「World of Warcraft」，登録プレイヤー数が1100万人を突破
Blizzard Entertainmentは，MMORPG「World of Warcraft」の登録プレイヤー数が全世界で1100万人を突破したと発表した。
「World of Warcraft」は，2004年11月に北米地域で正式サービスを開始するや人気は急上昇。2007年には拡張パック第一弾「World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade」を発売し，欧米だけでなく中国やロシアといった地域でも大変な人気を博している。
2008年11月13日には，拡張パック第二弾の「World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King」を発売予定で，WoWの人気にさらに拍車がかかることとなりそうだ。
