謎に満ちた島々を巡る探索アドベンチャー「Windbound」が，2020年8月28日にリリース

　Deep Silverは，オーストラリアの5 Lives Studiosが開発を行う探索アドベンチャー「Windbound」（PC / PS4 / Xbox One / Nintendo Switch）の最新トレイラーを公開し，2020年8月28日のリリースに向けた予約販売を開始した。


　「Windbound」は，青銅器時代を扱うアドベンチャーゲームで，原始的な雰囲気が漂う世界観が特徴だ。主人公となるのは，嵐によって部族の仲間達と離れ離れになってしまった海洋民族の女戦士“カーラ”（Kara）。プレイヤーは彼女を操作して，複数のカヌーを木材で固定させたアウトリガーと呼ばれるタイプのボートに乗り込み，見たこともないような原生生物で溢れる人類未踏の島々や古代遺跡を巡りながら，生き延びるのに必要な道具や食料を見つけ出していく。


　もともとはボートさえない状態から始まるとのことで，地上にいる時間も多そうな雰囲気で，公開されたトレイラーを見ると，シーンによって甲板の大きさや帆の数や色が異なっているので，クラフティング要素も盛り込まれている様子。南太平洋の文化的特徴が組み合わされたファンタジー色の強い世界も独特だが，どこか「ゼルダの伝説 ブレス オブ ザ ワイルド」を意識させる雰囲気が気になるゲーマーも多そうだ。


　開発を行う5 Levels Studiosは，2015年にオープンワールド型のアクションゲーム「Satelite Reign」を手掛けており，たった5人のチームながらも評価の高いデベロッパである。公開されたばかりのSteamストアページの情報では，インタフェースとテキストが日本語化されるとのことだ。
